August: Playing hard and working hard.
August has been a quiet month for EA Barcelona. Many people have been away on holiday, and those of us who stayed have been making the most of the sunny weather. But that’s not to say that nothing has happened - on the contrary! We’ve been very busy working quietly in the background, and we’re happy to share a few highlights with you now.
EA Barcelona has a brand new website! 🎊
This is something that’s been in the pipeline for a while and has now finally been published (and you’re on it right now!). It definitely isn’t perfect, but it exists! Feel free to explore it, and if you’d like to give us your feedback, you can do so via this form. Thanks!
We are leaving Meetup and moving to Luma!
We have been using Meetup as our main events platform for a while now, but given their recent increase in prices, we have decided to move to Luma, which offers very similar services but for zero cost. Be sure to subscribe to our new Luma Events Calendar here!
La cruda verdad detrás de la carne (The harsh truth behind the meat industry)
Pablo Rosado, community member and Youtuber known by his channel name “Altrufísica”, bites the bullet (not the chicken!) and delves into the many serious problems caused by the factory farming industry. While the video isn’t for the faint-hearted, it is incredibly informative, coherent and often original and quite moving. You can watch it here (English subtitles available).
Coworking
Here we are back at Sopa again! Working on forecasting, animal advocacy, financial education and community building. Can you match the face to the field? 🤔
Sunny day at Parc de la Creueta del Coll
We took a sunny Saturday afternoon off to enjoy the lovely pool and surroundings at Parc de la Creueta del Coll, Perfect conditions for some deep conversations, admiring the views of the city and playing some ping pong matches. 🏓
