Community Spotlight 🔦
This month we’re celebrating Guillem Lajara, a Barcelona-born EA community member who’s taking on a bold challenge: making effective giving the default in Spain.
After years of exploring ideas at the intersection of ethics, psychology, and design, Guillem is now launching Karoteno. A new platform that aims to connect emotionally with mainstream donors and channel their generosity toward the world’s most effective charities. Unlike traditional giving platforms, Karoteno blends gamified experiences with a strong foundation in evidence and impact, hoping to inspire a new wave of generosity in Spain.
đź’ˇ Karoteno was recently registered as a legal foundation and is gearing up for its pilot launch this August. Among other things, Guillem is experimenting with a referral-based growth strategy, where users can invite friends and receive donation vouchers to support effective causes.

Women’s Circle 🌸
We held our first-ever women’s circle at Mailuna Teahouse. It was a cozy, comforting space for 8 women who are thinking seriously about how to make a meaningful difference with their careers, and offer one another advice and mutual support. Thank you to the ladies who joined and helped create such a warm and thoughtful environment!
AGI and Chill 🤖
We got together to complete the Future of AI course by BlueDot Impact, diving into the implications of artificial general intelligence, no coding or jargon required! Laptops, snacks, and a post-course discussion made it one of our most thoughtful (and accessible) tech-y events yet.

Inside Heura HQ 🍔
As part of the Alt. Protein Club organised by Naked Innovations, we visited Heura’s new innovation Hub in Poblenou, where co-working meets food-tech. We got an inspiring behind-the-scenes look at how they’re scaling impact in the plant-based food landscape, followed by rooftop networking and inspiring conversations.
Hiking in Collserola 🥾
To end the month, we swapped workshops for waterfalls. Led by Jakob Givoni, we hiked through the green trails of Collserola, shared a picnic near a hidden stream, and ended with a visit to Jakob’s off-grid tiny home. Beautiful weather, great company, and meaningful chats made it a community moment worth remembering!
